Legacy Adults 65-75 - Life Group Class Schedule
Director - Jim Smith and his wife Shirley
 Jim and Shirley Smith have been married for 45 years and have been blessed with two daughters and five grandchildren. It has been a joy for them to see both of their daughters raising their children in a Christian environment and how the Lord is being proclaimed to the next generation. Their happiest times are when they get to spend time with their family.
Jim graduated from Penn State University and went to work for Unisys Corporation for 30 years. After retiring, Jim and Shirley started their own consulting company where Jim was able to carry the knowledge that he gleaned to smaller companies. Shirley enjoyed staying at home and raising their girls and being a support system to their family.
Jim gave his heart to the Lord at the age of 12 at a Christian Boys Camp. He took a detour away from his walk with the Lord, and re-committed his life to Him in 1993. Shirley gave her heart to the Lord when she was 27, and He has been her anchor ever since.
Due to Jim’s job position, they were required to move every two to three years. When they would move to a new city, they would get involved in the church as soon as possible. Jim has been involved in Men’s Ministry, mission boards, and served in many capacities whenever needed. Shirley was involved in Women’s Ministry, Children’s Ministries, and started and is still involved in a Prayer Ministry that teaches women how to have a deeper walk with the Lord through prayer and Scripture.
Jim and Shirley joined McGregor Baptist Church as soon as they moved to Fort Myers in 2005. They enjoy serving our Lord here with friends they love and try to serve in whatever capacity is needed. They are currently serving as Administrators of their Life Group class. Jim is on the Personnel Committee and is the Legacy Adult Divisional Director.
Joshua 24:15b says “that as for me and my household we will serve the Lord” and it is the desire of both Jim and Shirley to continue worshiping and serving our Church family until they are called home.
