Directors - Jim & Debbie Martin
 Jim and Debbie were married in 1982. Both grew up in loving homes, however, Jim’s was un-churched. They became followers of Christ in 1994, and were baptized together October 9, 1994.
Jim is a retired Washington, DC, Fire Fighter and was a Lieutenant in charge of the Hazardous Materials Unit. He has served as Intern Coordinator and then as Director for the Church Planting Center at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jim was an Ethnic and Church Planting Minister at a mega SBC church. He has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science Administration at the University of the District of Columbia and a Bachelor’s Degree in Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary Boyce College. Jim has taken all Master’s level courses in Church Planting from SBTS.
Jim and Debbie were North American Mission Board approved, assigned to the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary to help set up and operate the Church Planting Center. They have served on National and International Mission Teams and have assisted with church planting in Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Indiana.
Jim has a 4th Degree Black Belt in Judo, was a member of U.S. International sports teams for ten years in both Judo and Wrestling, was a Pan American Gold Medalist in Wrestling, and placed 4th in the Wrestling World Championship in 1983. He was on the Olympic Training Team in Judo from 1976 to 1980. Jim enjoys backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, and reading biographies on men of great courage.
Debbie has been an assistant to a Senior Pastor at a large SBC church and to a Membership Pastor at a mega SBC church. She established the office and procedures for the North American Mission Board’s Church Planting Center at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and was Events Coordinator for NAMB at the seminary. Debbie has a Bachelor’s Degree from Arkansas State University and an Associate’s Degree in Court Reporting. Debbie has a Black Belt in Judo and was Arkansas Women’s State Champion for three years. Her passions are church assimilation and Prayer Ministry. She enjoys traveling, reading, and quiet times with the Lord.
